Appellate Division Second Department Sets Perfection Deadlines

The Second Department’s revised filing deadlines are quickly approaching.

For appeals that were set to be perfected between March 16 and May 14, 2020 and which have not yet been perfected, the deadline is September 9, 2020.

For appeals that were set to be perfected between May 15 and July 9, 2020 and which have not yet been perfected, the deadline is September 23, 2020.

For appeals that were due to be perfected between July 10 and August 10, 2020 the deadline is October 13, 2020.

For appeals due to be perfected after August 10, 2020 deadlines shall be determined in accordance with section 1250.9 of the Rules of Practice of the Appellate Division (22 NYCRR 1250.9).

Please be aware that the court will NOT be lenient with these deadlines, except in cases of extreme hardship.
