The Appellate Term, Second Department recently rescinded Parts 730,731 and
732 of Title 22 of the Official Compilation of the Codes, Rules and Regulations of the
State of New York (22 NYCRR) and adopted new Parts 730 and 731 of the same Title,
effective January l, 2020.

Of particular interest to you might be Rule 731.9 (a)(2), wherein the court, for
the first time, will require that a reproduced printed record be filed in certain civil
appeals. With the exception of appeals from the Town & Village /Justice Courts, all
civil appeals where all parties are represented by counsel will be required to file four
reproduced printed copies of the record on appeal (22 NYCRR 731.7 [b][2]). I An
additional copy of the record and briefs must be filed digitally on the court’s website.
Prior registration on the website will be required.
